What moves a score after publication

Dispute outcomes

Every case filed through our dispute service carries a penalty weighted by the amount in dispute — a £10,000 case counts twenty times a £50 one. An unresolved case costs double a case the casino wins on legitimate terms.

That total is then scaled against the operator’s overall case volume, so a casino with a hundred thousand players isn’t punished for simply having more of them. The result is subtracted from the weighted category score, capped at 2 points.

Measured payout times

Players report how long a completed withdrawal actually took. Once a casino has enough reports, the median replaces our editorial estimate everywhere on the site and feeds the payouts category. Casinos whose median degrades are flagged for re-testing automatically. See the current league table.

Where the money comes from

This site earns commission when a reader signs up with a casino through one of our links. That is stated on every page carrying such a link, and it is the only revenue the site takes.

What that money does not do: change a score, change a ranking position, remove a dispute, or buy a place on a “best of” list. Rankings are sorted by score. When the best casino in a category has no affiliate programme, it is still listed first and we earn nothing from that placement.

Every account we test is funded with our own money. We do not accept free accounts, comped balances, or pre-arranged withdrawals — those would make the payout timings meaningless.

Common questions

Can a casino pay for a better score?

No. Scores come from the scorecard below, which is filled in by whoever ran the test. Affiliate agreements are negotiated separately and have no input into any criterion. Where the best casino for a category has no affiliate programme, we still list it first and earn nothing from it.

What does the 200 in "200-point method" mean?

It is the number of individual checks behind the five category scores — 200 criteria across licensing, payouts, bonus fairness, games and support. Each review states how many were assessed, because a brand-new casino cannot be scored on payout history it doesn't have yet.

Why did a score change without the review being rewritten?

Because two inputs keep moving after publication: measured payout times from player reports, and the outcome of any dispute filed against that casino. Both are computed, not edited, so the score reflects current behaviour rather than the day we tested.

Do you accept free accounts or bonuses from casinos?

No. Every account is opened and funded with our own money, and every withdrawal is a real one. That is what makes payout timings measurable rather than repeated from a press page.
